On Monday, the Australian government prohibited the use of the Chinese video app TikTok on all its government devices. The decision was made due to concerns that the platform is being utilized to conduct espionage on officials. After a comprehensive security review carried out by the Department of Home Affairs, the law was signed by Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese on April 3, according to The Australian. The parent company of TikTok, ByteDance, will no longer be permitted to install the Chinese-owned app on any device used by politicians and public servants in Canberra. ByteDance has rejected accusations of espionage.

Can ByteDance address the concerns about espionage, or will the ban on TikTok in government devices be the end of the app's use in Australia?
