Dr Deepak Kumar Hota is the former Chairman and Managing Director of BEML where he has been on the Board for over seven years. He has built expertise in the defence production sector.

He built the BEML brand and aggressively pursued the “Make in India” policy with a record order book comprising of over 75% orders on competitive mode. This was while competing against world class MNCs. Prestigious orders include the Mumbai Metro driverless trains, 200 Ton Electro drive Dump trucks etc.

He engaged McKinsey to identify growth opportunities within and outside India to fulfill “Atma Nirbhar Bharat” mandate.

He has won various awards and accolades of which a few are:

→ Top Challengers Award at Construction World Global Awards

→ NHRD Award for Most Seasoned HR Professional of the year

→ Honorary Degree of PhD by Manav Rachna Educational Institutions (MREI)

He is currently:

→ Member of IOD Board, Bangalore

→ Board member CV Raman Global University Bhubaneswar

He is an Alumnus of St Stephens College from where he did his Economics Hons and thereafter went to XLRI for his Masters.

Prior to BEML he was in HPCL for a little over thirty years.
