He has a work experience of over 40 years in government and corporate sectors in India. During his tenure Ministry of Finance in early 1990s, most notable were: formulation of SEBI bill, and policies on development of mutual funds. He had the longest tenure of close to 20 continuous years from 1998 to 2017 in ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB). He has deep first-hand knowledge in a wide spectrum of policies in oil and gas sector, ranging from pricing, trade, project analysis, authorization of City gas distribution and gas pipelines. He signed off as Member of PNGRB in August 2017.
